Italy's first BIOP plant

With an output of 560 Smc/h, the Collarmele project in the fertile Fucino basin marks a significant milestone for the BIOGEST Group: it is the first Own Plant Operation (OPO) project under the new BIOP brand.

The biogas plant is based on the proven PowerRing technology and utilizes over 75,000 tons of agricultural residues annually - including mainly chicken manure and residues from vegetable processing such as fennel. The result: high-quality, renewable biomethane, organic fertilizer and food-grade CO2. The project is based on a closed-loop system in which by-products are used efficiently. This reduces greenhouse gas and nitrogen emissions and at the same time produces a high-quality fertilizer for regional agriculture. This creates real added value - for the region and for the partner farms. Short transportation routes and close cooperation with local farmers also contribute to a low environmental impact. There are also plans to integrate photovoltaic systems in the future to make the site even more sustainable and energy self-sufficient.
